Analysis for Innovations for the Developing World
One point that the author mentions is the purification of water. In fact , his innovation "Slingshot" can help the vast majority of people in developing countries live a decent life. I am an upholder with the idea that people must have the entitlement to have safe clean water. People need to utilize sterilized water for drinking, cooking, washing their clothes, and for hygiene. There are of couple reasons why these societies are in demand of unpolluted water. Contaminated water leads to disease;consequently, they will face a high mortality rate . As a case in point, in the article "Cholera-Vibrio Cholera infection" the author states that " the percentage of people who die from reported cholera cases remains higher in Africa than elsewhere." This represents how some African people suffer from this disease which comes from unpurified water. Moreover, according to the United Nations , parts of Africa itself waste "40 billion hours" to gather the water from nearest swamp. Instead of bringing water, their time can be used for employment . As a result of spending time collecting water , not even poor people will face poverty, but also obviously they can not attend the school because they are busy just trying to survive .Therefore, impure water is expected to leave countries with high death rates, increased unemployment, and more uneducated people. Summing up," Slingshot" technology can help these people in developing countries access to a basic element which is pure water. I believe that if these governments take the responsibility on their shoulders and imagine themselves in this predicament. These governments definitely must not permit their civilians to live in such a way .
